Questions and Answers

What days/times are available for appointments?

  • Currently appointments are available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. A wide variety of times are available, including early morning, late afternoon and some evenings.

  • Every week my schedule is different, therefore you need to call or email me to see what appointment times are available. You can schedule several appointments in advance if it is important to you to have a set day and/or time to come in.

  • Telehealth appointments are available but an initial in-person appointment is required to determine if telehealth is an appropriate mode of treatment for you.

How long is a typical appointment?

  • The first appointment is 60 minutes long because it involves a thorough evaluation of your symptoms, background, etc. Any following appointments are 50-55 minutes long---this is considered to be a typical "therapeutic hour".

What is the first step to scheduling an appointment?

  • You can call me at 402-671-9880 or email me at emilypfeiferanson@gmail.com to schedule a brief telephone consultation or to simply schedule the first appointment.

  • Once you decide to schedule an appointment, I can either mail or email you the necessary forms to fill out. You will complete the forms and bring them to your first appointment. You can also choose to arrive to your first appointment 15 minutes early to complete the forms in the waiting room.

How does billing my insurance work?

  • Before your first appointment it is important for you to contact your insurance provider to find out information about your mental health benefits, including your deductible, copay, etc. I can send you an insurance verification form to help you gather the right information.

  • If you choose to use your insurance benefits, I will submit claims for each appointment. The insurance company will provide payment for those services and you will be responsible for any remaining charges related to your deductible, copayment, etc.

Can I pay for my appointments out of pocket?

  • Yes, many people choose to pay privately for their therapy appointments. Often individuals like the idea of having complete confidentiality with not having an insurance company know their diagnosis. There is also no limits on the amount of appointments they can have.
